Seoul, the time-old capital city of the Republic of
Korea, and home of more than 11 million people. The
city is divided into northern and southern portions
by the Han River, Seoul is an exciting, incredibly diverse
city with an amazing array of sights to see, place to
eat and things to buy.
Incheon International Airport is situated 52 km west
of downtown Seoul. You should fill out the immigration
cards, and the personal effects declaration forms which
are usually handed out on the plane. After arrival,
proceed to the immigration investigation at the foreigner's
inspection counter. Most visitors including Thai nationals
with a confirmed air ticket departing Korea are allowed
to stay up to 90 days without visa. After immigration
inspection and your passport is stamped, keep a copy
of immigration card well because it is also an emigration
card and will be inspected when you depart from Korea.
Pick up your baggage from the luggage carousel then
proceed to the customs inspection counter. Passengers
carrying goods within tax exemption limit can continue
to the green channel, but those with taxable articles
should proceed to the red channel for declaration.

busy city areas and can also be hailed on the streets.

time taken. Fares are 1,600 won for the first 2 km and

less than 15 km per hour, an additional charge of 100
won per 41 seconds is added to the fare. The fare between

usually around 47,000 won. It could be higher if traffic
is congested. Fares increase 20% between midnight and
4 a.m.
Deluxe Taxis
Deluxe taxis are black with a yellow sign on the top
and the words "Deluxe Taxi" written on the
sides. They offer more passenger space and a high standard
of service. Fares are 4,000 won for the first 3 km and
200 won for each additional 205 m or each 50 seconds
if the speed drops below 15 km per hour. The usual fare
between Incheon International Airport and downtown Seoul
is about 67,000 won. Receipts are given and there is
no late-night surcharge. Deluxe taxis can be taken at
stands located at hotels, stations, bus terminals and
major city streets.
Jumbo Taxis
Eight-passenger van taxis are in service. They are installed
with simultaneous foreign language interpretation by
phone, receipt-issuing equipment, and credit card processing
terminal. Fares are the same as deluxe taxis. Passengers
